Success Story : Building Commissionning Services (BCS) Paris

[Bulbthings] We are delighted to have you as a customer. Could you describe your business activity?

[Arnaud Rouzioux, HVAC Commissioning Engineer] BCS provides HVAC BMS technical expertise & energy performance services. We specialize in:

  • tuning and optimization,
  • commissioning of technical installations,
  • auditing of HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Smoke Extraction) and BMS (Building Management Systems),
  • technical support and consulting before and during construction works,
  • PLC programming and the integration of automation and supervision systems,
  • the maintenance of HVAC and Control equipment,
  • the management of highly complex, highly technical HVAC and control projects (e.g., offices, schools, arenas, hospitals, data centers, laboratories, industrial sites, etc.),
  • the creation of functional descriptions and points lists.

We support our clients through a wide range of operations — from design to commissioning — to ensure high-performing, reliable, and sustainable installations.

Our mission is to guarantee optimal energy performance across diverse, ambitious, and demanding projects, while building lasting, trust-based relationships with our clients. Project management requires rigorous coordination among various site stakeholders, a deep understanding of technical installations, and the ability to anticipate unforeseen events to ensure compliant, high-performing, and on-time delivery. Today more than ever, technical audits represent a strategic lever for improving energy efficiency, detecting malfunctions, and optimizing operating costs. Our expertise allows us to provide a sharp, independent assessment of installations, along with concrete, operational recommendations tailored to the specific challenges of each site.

How did the need for an equipment tracking system arise?

The need for an equipment tracking system arose with the increase in both our inventory size and our workforce.

To successfully carry out our technical missions, we must manage a large volume of tools and measuring instruments. It became essential to precisely track their assignments (to specific locations and/or technicians) and, crucially for our business, to schedule and track mandatory regulatory inspections.

Managing this via a shared Excel spreadsheet on the cloud quickly became complicated, particularly due to the risk of conflicts when opened simultaneously on multiple workstations.

Why did you choose Bulbthings?

I chose Bulbthings because, after extensive research, it was the product that resonated with me the most. It is simple, customizable, adaptable, and features a highly fluid visual interface. Today, we are 10 team members using the Bulbthings platform on a daily basis.

What benefits (quantitative and qualitative) have you derived from it so far?

The primary benefit is a saving of time and energy: we spend significantly less time tracking down equipment from our teams and benefit from seamless asset lookups.

On a qualitative and operational level, Bulbthings brings us true peace of mind by centralizing our tool inventory.

The rigorous tracking of our measuring instruments’ regulatory inspections allows us to guarantee the compliance and safety of our interventions, which is a core pillar of our technical rigor.

Are there any favorite features or user tips you would like to share with the Bulbthings community?

My favorite feature is hands down their mobile app’s built-in QR code scanner. It allows you to either directly access an equipment’s full profile page or scan multiple assets in a row to assign them quickly on the spot. Furthermore, the QR code delivery service provided by Bulbthings is extremely practical for rapidly identifying all our equipment out in the field.
